Burning thigh

Hi fellow hippies

I am almost six weeks post TRHR ( ceramic non cemented) and still have a burning and numb sensation down the back of my right thigh. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it possibly a leftover of the epidural? I have my six week review later this week so I'm hoping for some ansers then. In the meantime I worry that soemthing is amiss.

HI GILLIAN .... 13 weeks post op today and experiencing some burning sensation and numbness in and around my scar as well as front of thigh - SOmetimes I think I can feel the rod !!!   you will ind that many of us have this and so, I consider it normal part of healing - we are doing more and muscles are being challenged ... easy to overdo it .... fed up with just shuffling around, right?

I had GA ... be genlte with your self -

    Morning Gillian,

I am 7 months post opp. and I had the same numbness around the scar for quite a few weeks, then itching!! drove me mad as obviousley I couldn't scatch it, the new hip is just settling in, even now I still get twinges, especially after walking around for a while, but for me I think it's because I'm leaning on it too much as I'm now waiting to get the right hip done!! good luck with your 6 weeks check up, at least now you will be able to sleep on your side again!! bliss lol,

    love Lynne.

I'm 7 weeks (ceramic cemented) and part of the area around the wound still feels numb and the area is still tender. I got a sense of heat in the hip area after I'd been walking about 3/4 mile today. I assumed it was the muscles complaining.

Hi I'm almost 12wks and the side of my thigh is still numb. If I poke it hard enough it's still quite tender too! And the wound gets itchy too

Oddly since replying to your post earlier I am now getting hot sensations a few times in the upper back thigh for no apparent reason. I could just be sitting down and then feel the heat. I never had this till the walk I told you about before.

Like you now trying not to worry as I can't think of a reason for it as it's not near  the wound. It comes and goes.
