Burning throat and sour/bitter taste in mouth for 2 weeks

Hello everyone,

For the past two weeks my throat has been burning every day. At times it is almost unbearable and has reduced me to tears. I also have a sour bitter taste in my mouth. I don't have heartburn. My GP wants to do a H Pylori test before prescribing. Just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this. Is it acid coming back up to my throat? Has anyone tried a PPI e.g. omeprazole for these symptoms and did it work for you? Any advice would be much appreciated

    Had all the tests and the Dr wants me to remain on omeprazole

    but unfortunately i dont get any relief. I find eating sugar free

    chewing gum after eating helps.

    not sure if you are still active on this site? Did you manage to find the reason for your bitter taste? I too have a bitter taste in my mouth all the time that varies in intensity! I have no idea what is causing it but omaprazole did nothing at all!
