It may be the toothpaste you have been using and it may take a while for it to leave your system.but it could also be something called Glossodynia which usually affects women around the menopause.  Its not common and its not really known what causes it.

You could try a health food supplement called Alphalipoic Acid. This has shown to be helpful.

Hmm,sounds as though it probably is the low levels of Iron and Vitamin D that are causing it. Iron needs Vitamin D for it to be absorbed properly and  Vt D needs iron for it to be absorbed properly. Not sure what you mean by em? Can you explain?

If your diet is good maybe you have developed a  problem with the absorption of these minerals,as lack of iron and Vit D can cause these symptoms of sore tongue.  Have you been recommended to take any supplements of Iron and vit D? Do you have a very low fat diet? Fat is essential to absorb Vit D.  Do you have a very dark skin ? Its essential to get enough sunlight on the skin for your body to make Vit D,and sometimes very dark skin can hinder the process.

Hope you get some help soon. This must be very distressing for you.
