Burning vagina

Hi

A few days ago everything changed in my system Just all of a sudden I was on FIRE. My immediate thought was I have an infection

It got so bad I went to the ER. What I found out there is Nothing wrong with me. NOTHING! Since I had gone through something similar many years ago I know what works and what doesn't. (Was on antibiotics that time) But this time just all of a sudden I am on FIRE

So, since I had tried everything last time. I decided I was not going to put anything up there. I had tried literally everything you could think of. I was given so many different antibiotics it was a way of life every day . So, what I'm trying to say. I decided to go a different route. I thought if I am all swollen from nothing this time I won't be able to survive a year of agony again. So, I started to think. For some reason benadryl came to mind. I mean really what do i have to lose? So I went and got some and within hours I was feeling better. It stopped the burning and itching down there. For now things are not perfect but more bearable. I hope this helps someone

So it seems your symptoms were not due to vaginal atrophy, perhaps it was some kind of allergy or overproduction of histamine. Benadryl is an antihistamine. I had vulvodynia (horrible constant burning, all tests and biopsy showed nothing other than inflammation) and tried an antihistamine but it made no difference, so it was definitely neuropathic for me.

Suki. U saud u had volvodynia  is it cured. I’m 70 years old and it started 7 years ago with burning and pain. I was very dry so I’m using hormonal internal cream. It came and went. There were months when I felt good and months where I was very very uncomfortable.

This past October my doctor says I had LS because of architecture change. I never heard of that before. Never thought of it. I have no white patches.

I used clobetasol and last week tested for yeast. The dr saud she’s not convinced I have LS!!  I didn’t have biopsy

So now I’m going back because the burning is awful. What did u use to help burning. I’m using Vaseline as a barrier but I read a post where someone saud not to use it.

This whole thing is maddening to me

I had it for 2 years, starting in summer 2013. I have been pain free since summer 2015. I used a combination of treatments. If you search for my post ‘how I cured my vulvodynia’ it is all in there. Other women have posted things that have worked for them on that discussion too, such as dietary changes.

hi Kelly I know what you are going through I was on antibiotics like every month, the burning was so bad it was like I had put acid up their.

?I have been under gynaecologist which gave me some medication but it didn't work, then I saw something on the internet called yes its a organic moisturiser,i have been using it for about a month now and its made me feel so much better.its for vaginal dryness, vaginal atrophy, itching, irritation, burning and soreness. it a bit exspensive to keep buying it on the internet so going to the doctors next week to try and get it put on prescription.

Hi Susan, I hope you don't mind a few questions from me.  How did you find Yes?  Does it burn?  I still have blisters from using the Emuaid. it started off so great... but then it went downhill fast.  I'm afraid to try new things.  I'll try it on my leg first... Thanks in advance.  Debi

I use the Yes oil based. I found it soothing when I had vulvodynia and also for vaginal atrophy. I will warn you that the Yes water based lube and Yes vagainal moisturiser stung me. I can only tolerate natural oils.

    Hi Kelley

Yes it sounds like you found a great way to treat it!  You are right not to put anything into your vag. It can cause the flora to become more unbalanced which causes infections. It sounds like you reversed the effects of a contact dermatitis.  And yes I've noticed that ER's are useless when it comes to vaginal pain.  It makes me really angry.  Why can't they stop and learn some about vaginal disorders?  It's not like it's totally unheard of! Oh well.  I see a specialty Gyn and she has helped me greatly. Next week I get another specialist in vulvodynia.

kelley, What was the solution the 1st time it happened? Or do you think it went away on its own?

Hi Kelly. My issue started two months ago with a sharp burning and itching in my vagina. Initially I thought fungal.. Then I got a smelly discharge and got flucanazole... Nothing helped... Std tests, bacterial vaginosis... Nothing and through it all burning itching throughout. Something which I think gave me a clue was that it affected the inside of my lips in my mouth. I thought ok.. Allergy. Im on antihistamine every day and it's improved it to bearable but not fixed. I'm going for allergy tests on Tuesday. Not sure if this sounds like what uv got. Iv just read a article about formaldehyde in toilet paper causing an allergic reaction. The cheaper toilet paper apptly doesn't have it. I'm desperate, I'll try anything.
