Burping preferable to reflux?

Hi, I have noticed that I can often avoid reflux by actively initiating burping before it arrives. However if I do it a lot it gets a little sore sometimes.

Do you think this is good practice to avoid the acid reflux?

I, and many others, have found that using plain sparkiling water to control the burping can help. By reieving the pressure in a controlled way (preferably when the stomach isn't full of acid), "accidental" reflux may be reduced.

Before i was prescribed ppis i had tremendous chest pains radiating between my shoulder blades, with trapped wind. PPIs made me burp with force but stopped all pains and i could eat whatever, whenever in whatever position i happened to be sitting ...including a recliner. Since i was taken off ppis and other meds i was on ( for barretts, gerd, oesophgitis, gastritis,) i have continued burping with force so no chest pains (if I do get pains a glass of  enos fruit salts helps).

      ?

?also dry food gets stuck in my 'crow' and gives me pain in chest so i  have  to forcefully regurgitate it and get rid of it ...it's food which jas not hit the stomach yet as not acidic.

Does gerd give wind in stomach and food getting stuck in oesophagus? ?

GERD doesn't cause wind or swallowing difficulties but the different symptoms are often related.

Swallowing difficulties, "dysphagia", can exist if the oesophagus is not producing enough mucous to lubricate the passage of food. And food sticking in the oesophagus will cause pains as described.

"Wind", a build up in the stomach from non released gasses, can occur if normal burping "Transient Lower Oesophageal Sphincter Relaxations" are not permitted. (eg by food still lodged in the oesophagus or an over-tightening or spasming of sphincter attempting to prevent reflux.

It is important when eating to kepp the body vertical, eat small mouthfuls, chew well and slowly and swallow carefully.
