Bursitis in the toes/ball of foot

Hi, i had big toe fusion on the left foot in July this year in the UK. The surgery went really well and the worst of it all was having my foot in plaster for 6 weeks. We managed to hire a wheel chair from the British Red Cross which helped. After the plaster was removed at the beginning of September, i still could not drive for a further 3 weeks. I suddenly realised that i was healed quite well one day but after my first attempt of driving being around 10 weeks post surgery i started to get pain in all the toes on that foot. The pain went up the top of my foot. My toes tingled, pained and were sometimes numb. I rang the Consultant who performed the Fusion and he said to come back. I have just had another scan and have it confirmed that i have Bursitis in the toes and ball of my foot. Has anyone else had this in their foot as it seems more common in the hip and knees. The pain is eased now after wearing Vionic shoes but is still there and my foot is still swollen. I have Type 2 Diabetes but not really over weight. I control it well and take Metformin. Any comments would be helpful! Thanks in advance

Thanks, That's what the Consultant thought i had - Mortons Neuroma until the scan today. What is worse, Neuroma or Bursitis?
