Buspirone - prescribed "as needed"

Hello!

First time poster so hi to everyone.

Huge anxiety and depression sufferer. Ive been prescribed buspirone by the dr, but on an "as needed" basis. Everything I've read says I should be taking it daily and that it takes 3-4 weeks to build up. Does it work in a similar way to benzos when taken sporadically? Would it work for a panic attack (as in calm me down/take the edge off?)

    Hello,

    As written in the leaflet, the anxiolytic effect sets in after about 14 days. Buspirone is not a benzodiazepine. Have you been to a psychiatrist or a general practitioner? Tell us something about yourself, age, weight, lifestyle. What symptoms do you have? Discussions are good for us anxious and depressed people. Health and we are waiting for an answer 😊
