Ok i have a lot of experience.  You need to goto your doctor and ask him if its a good idea to be taking Tramadol whilst on a Butrans Patch.  Buprenorphine is a powerful synthetic opiate drug, however it's also a blocker of all other opiates.  So you shouldn't be taking tramadol with a Butrans patch.  That is as far as im aware.  Buprenorphine will space you out, as will tramadol which can make you depressed.  Pregabalin is fine while on Butrans, but seriously i would call the doctors and tell them your taking tramadol while on butrans.  Doing that will put you into opiate withdrawal!  Which OBVIOUSLY will make you extremely depressed!

Let me know how you get on.  I would be calling them now Daniel.

I was on tramadol before I started the Patches, but they stopped working for me, so my Doctor prescribed the Patches  But she told me that I had to ween myself of the Tramadol, and get right down to 4  before I could start taking the patches, and I continued reducing the Tramadol till I eventually was off them altogether.

I'm on anti-depressant, so mybe thats why I don't feel depressed with Patches.

Hope you get sorted out with your doctor.

Hi, Id sugest you talk to Doc about doing the tramadol as well as patches. Tramadol was my go to med for pain nefore hip replacement surgery, and I was fine on it, even at max doses, some years later I had further surgery, reacted badly to post op codeine, so went back on tramadol, after yeats off it. I got horrid side effects, mentally, very paranoid, very out of it, hallucinating etc etc, and disowned my leg/foot (the operated bit of me!!) too weird. Came off it and didnt go back. I also lasted as short a time as I could on the patches, after overheating on a car journey and having a bad reaction - doc thinks it was due to a combo with my blood pressure meds.  Nealry passed out. Glad to be off them, now using naproxen, not too effective, but mentally happier and less spaced out. Didnt relaise either that patches have implications if you might want to go on holiday abroad, they are a controlled drug and acc to my doc and pharmacist Id need a letter to take them out of the country.  scary stuff.
