Butt Cheek Rash - What is it?

Posted , 3 users are following.

Hi everyone,

Im a male. About 2 weeks - 3 weeks ago I got this rash on my butt cheeks. It was very dry and itchy and abit raised. It seems the rash is only on my butt cheeks, nothing at the anal since doesnt itch.

Few weeks past and It has gotten abit better but the rash has turned very dark. I still have abit of it but it is less itchy but does itch at times and still abit of rash left.

I have included a picture:

Does anyone know what it is and how to cure? Is it something to be worried about?

Thanks.

hi Anon.....I think its a fungal rash. Get some anti dandruff shampoo that has Selenium sulphide as the active ingredient and use it to wash the area. Work into a lather over the area, using a small soft brush if you have one, leave the lather on the area for 3-5 minutes then rinse off well. Dry thoroughly and then rub some anti fungal cream on the area , look for one with clotrimamzole as the active ingredient...Canesten do one. Try to do this every day for a week and you should see an improvement. Then use the wash and ointment on alternate days until it is finished. If there is no improvement do see your doctor. You may need stronger medication.

Hi an update on my situation.

I bought some hydrocozone cream not sure what it called. I applied it for 2-3 weeks and stopped using it. It reduced some of the rash and itchyness.

But it has been many months now I still have some rash on the left side of my butt cheeks and it is itchy at times but not always. How come this rash has not gone away it has been many months now? The texture of my rash is very dry still.

Please does anyone know what is wrong with me or how to fix this? It has been many months and i still have it but not so much as before.

As I told you...I think its a fungal rash and hydrocortisone cream is not likely to work on a fungal rash. Read my reply of 5 months ago.

Odd that your rash is white. I think good oils and rash creams over time will make things better for you.
