bv

I'm going through the same thing ! I've looked online at genital herpes pictures and all I see is the red bumps that they say turn into sores but I just get maybe 2-3 sores down there from time to time which could be a very mild herpes outbreak maybe ? Idk it doesn't make sense.. And I have a vaginal discharge, I went to the doctor and they told me that if the discharge doesn't stop then I probably have bv but what about the sores ? can bv cause mild vaginal sores if it's left untreated ? . I hope it's not herpes.

Did they not test you? When I went to the gyno they tested me for everything. It just came back as a bv infection not an std. If you're not positive.. I would get tested because herpes isn't fun. I get shingles on my face and it's a hot burning sensation.. so if you feel anything like that it probably is. I've gotten like sores down there before from like pores/sweat glands being clogged. It could be that?

No they didn't test me for anything so when I make my appointment I'm going to ask for one. It's weird cause I don't feel anything besides when I wipe to go to the restroom then I'll look down there just to check and there will be a sore or two there

    Hi jessica

i had BV untreated .. Long story, but i had it for at least 8 months before my new gyno discovered it after a smear.. With mine i felt not right in myself, but not sure why, but had no usual discharge they say you get, no odour etc, my discharge was more milky and watery.

had to be treated with vaginal clindamycin antibiotic for 3 nights ..

Then it returned and had to be treated again..

have you ruled thrush out ?

I now check my vaginal PH levels with the eco care vaginal PH home test sticks.

if PH is higher than 5 then its BV or similar ..

i get them off amazon uk there are 15 tester sticks ..

I checked my PH yesterday and its spot on 4 - 4.5 PH

try some strong pro biotics i take them daily .. BV is too much bad bacteria in the vagina ..

Why BV ( Bacterial Vaginosis ) occurs

also see CV ( Cytolytic Vaginosis )

      Why it happens

The vagina naturally contains a mix of many different bacteria.

In cases of BV, the number of certain bacteria increases, affecting the balance of chemicals in the vagina.

What leads to these changes in the levels of bacteria is not clear.

BV is not classified as a sexually transmitted infection (STI), but you are at a higher risk of developing the condition if you are sexually active.

Thanks for that information, no I've never really looked into the whole thrush thing but now that makes me want to research into it, and I've never thought about checking my pH balance either but I should probaby do that, do you think a cleansing wash would also help between now and my doctor visit ?

      Hi Jessica

Thrush feels uncomfy, itchy. Painful etc .. Sometimes a white discharge ..

it can drive you mad and make you sore, its a yeast infection ..

can be brought on my hormones, tight clothing, bubble baths, detergents etc..

easily treated with over the counter canestan once cream.

Use at bedtime with a pant liner, you need to keep it in as long as possible.

I also take an oral thrush tablet at the same time. buts thats my personal preference..

i would not douche .. Or you will wash away anyway thats needs looking at by the Doc.. Just water only if you can ..

The PH home testers i mentioned are a must for us ladies 😃

      Vaginal Thrush Symptoms

      Typical symptoms include:

itching and soreness around the entrance of the vagina.

      pain during sex.

a stinging sensation when you urinate.

vaginal discharge, although this isn't always present; the discharge is usually odourless and it can be thin and watery, or thick and white like cottage cheese.

      Hi Jessica

      forgot to say

Canestan Once cream is the better one, pressaries i think arent as good, they are bitty when they dissolve ..

      cream is best ..

also a tablet can be taken called fluconazole x 1

i use both, but thats my personal choice as i hate thrush..

these can be bought now from the chemists or boots etc with out prescription or superdrug  etc ..

      Or chemist direct uk
