BV and UTI sufferers?

Anyone here has BV with frequent UTIs? My BV always triggers UTI, as soon as BV starts I get a full blown UTI, especially right after period or after sex. Sometimes it's hard to tell which one comes first, BV or UTI because the symptoms are so intense!!!

I've definitely felt UTI like symptoms but I just try to keep on the probiotics and the cranberry supplements for UTIs and I've been ok as far as getting a UTI. Still have the BV though.....

I suffer from both as well sad it seems that my UTIs trigger my BV. Just cured yet another UTI but now having BV symptoms. I just bought some probiotics from Amazon and will start taking them daily, crossing my fingers!

      Hi Anna,

I did some research, BV and UTI go hand in hand. Our urinary tract has a dormant  E coli bacteria naturally, and presence of BV gets into the bladder since female urethra is so close to our female system, and triggers E coli starting a UTI. So it's a very sad and vicious cycle!  I'm battling a very painful and bad UTI right now, always get them right after my period after a BV fare up begins. Have you tried taking D Mannose and cranberry supplement daily? D Mannose always does magic at flushing the bladder and making it better.

Ugh so frustrating! I really hope you recover from your UTI quickly! They’re such a pain sad I do take D Mannose everyday to try to prevent them. When I do have UTIs I feel it really helps bring the infection down though it doesn’t get rid of it completely.  I have the AZO cranberry pills but I only take them when I remember, I need to work on that lol. Still experimenting what I can do to help with the UTI issue because I seem to get them every 2-3 months. If you have any suggestions please share! smile

Thank you very much, I hope you find a relief from your UTIs as well! I drink 9 glasses of water per day and 16 oz  of cranberry juice every day. However, buying the juice can get expensive, so D Mannose with cranberry is a much cheaper alternative. I just discovered a very good brand on Amazon to take on a daily basis, it's a maximum strength D Mannose with cranberry and vitamin C built-in from Divine Bounty brand. But what I really feel keeps my UTIs in check is whenever I take Garden of Life Women's probiotics daily because every time I stop taking them UTIs always come back aggressively. However, unfortunately I think in our case they are always triggered by the underlying BV condition because the infection gets into the bladder and until BV is eradicated UTIs always find a way to come back!
