BV and yeast infection after??

Posted , 3 users are following.

I just finished my 500mg each, 2x a day for 7 days of metronidazole. Yesterday I had a white mucous-like discharge and after that, I'm starting to get yellow watery discharge... There's no fishy smell and no cramps or anything. Been getting headaches and feeling weak sometimes and lost of appetite. Not itching or burning sensations. Is it a yeast infection? Should I contact my Dr. Or just wait till the metronidazole clears out of my body And then make an appointment?

If I do have it, what's more effective and better? Opinions? The pills or gel?

    Elizabeth,

Coming from someone who has been to the Gyno at least 10 times in less than a year. The pills they prescribe do NOT work. It is a temporary fix and then the BV comes back. If you are not having odor, or any other BV symptoms like clear, watery discharge or itchiness. It sounds like you have a Yeast Infection. I cannot be sure as I am no Doctor. I would suggest making an appt with your Gyno or local health clinics. They will be able to prescribe something for Yeast (if that is what it is) and test for any std’s to rule our that possibility. I wish you the best of luck!

Oh and the gel does not work for BV, it might for yeast. But I have had chronic BV for over a year and the gels never helped, just threw off my PH even more.

    Hi everyone,

After the bacteria was gone with the antibiotics I stopped using panty liners n use cotton underwear n now my chronic bv is gone. It's been already 6 months bv free. The dr explained that even if we change panty liners frequently the bacteria is still there n the plastic in the liners makes a breeding ground n that's why no matter what you do or take the bacteria keeps coming back. Also At the same time I was talking probiotics. Now i don't use panty liners not even the cotton ones n I'm fine, bv free!!!!
