BV desperate to get rid of it!

Okay so this whole thing started about 6 months ago when I first got diagnosed with BV. I took flagyl and it went away. 6 months later and it's back. I first started feeling itchy down there thinking I had a yeast infection. After I had sex with my fiancé I felt worse. I have redness and itchiness all around my vagina and it is sore around the opening. Hurts when I sit down. I noticed a smell but not as strong as some people describe it. Not a lot of discharge either. I went to the doctor and they confirmed I did have one. I also was put on UTI meds because I felt like I had one of those too. Took UTI meds for 3 days and 2 diflucan one before and one after meds. My symptoms did not go away. I went back and they diagnosed me with BV. I got put on flagyl. This is the 6th day taking the flagyl and it is NOT WORKING. My redness itching and pain are still there and I can pretty much feel it constantly. I made an appointment with a gyno for 2 weeks from now and am hoping to get some answers. I am planning a wedding and really really don't want to be dealing with this on my wedding day. I see people saying they have had this for months and it is depressing me beyond belief. I even tried some home remedies (yogurt, probiotics, drinking lemon water, baking soda bath, rubbing coconut oil down there) nothing seems to be working. I'm so scared I'm going to be someone who can't ever get relief. I would honestly rather have it go away and come back just so I know the going away part is possible. Please help!

Hi Chelsea. I understand your dismay but it is curable. Seeing your gyno is important and all these home remedies people y’all about aren’t permanent cures, in my opinion. You do need to start with the miconodizole (I’m sure I spelled that wrong) vaginal antibiotic treatment. Then use boric acid once a week and drink kombucha every day (about 1/3 bottle). Be diligent because once you’ve had a few months symptom free you’re gonna get tempted to stop and it will come back and you’ll be back in this mess again. Good luck and don’t lose hope!
