BV FINALLY GONE!!!

I just had to come back to this discussion to share the remedy that has changed my life. I noticed that some come to this community to ask for help but seem to forget those that are still suffering once they have healed. Here is what worked for me and I hope it helps someone else to have a full and happy life again.

Background info: I have been dealing with BV/vaginal odor off an on for most of my adult life and in the last few years started experiencing "break-through" bleeding possibly related to a fibroid. About 3 years ago, I started a new relationship. Shortly after our first encounter I experienced severe vaginal odor and high vaginal Ph that I have not been able to control and is not responding to treatment. I have tried antibiotics, probiotics, boric acid, vitamins, suppositories, coconut oil, peroxide, diet changes, exercise, and more. I have abstained from sex, only use barriers when active, wear cotton undies, don't use tampons or anything scented, only wash with water, stopped shaving, stopped drinking alcohol, just about everything I could do to improve the situation. I have seen a specialist who has tested me for STIs, STDs, BV, checked my hormones, and did a PCR test. Even when my tests where negative, I still had awful odor. My Gyn said his patients usually respond to the boric acid and probiotics. But I still had a high Ph and smelled musty, rotten or like ammonia.

The solution: Using birth control pills to manage my menstrual cycles. The birth control I was prescribed is known for thinning the lining of the uterus and making periods lighter/shorter.

Why this helped: I have a three day period followed by SEVERAL days spotting. By the end of my period the menstrual blood is dark and malodorous. Period blood causes the vaginal Ph to be high, in my case for much longer than most women and it OFTEN lead to discharge/infection. A prolonged period gives you a shorter time for treatment to work plus more days having a high Ph so the good bacteria don't stand a chance of ever growing back. Even when I tested negative for BV I still had odor because my Ph was high. I suggest asking your Gyn if you can try birth control pills to control or even skip a period so that your treatments can work for longer, especially if you have issues with extended period or break-through bleeding.

Today: I feel FREE! I feel like a new person. I felt better by the end of the third week but continue to use Boric Acid at least once a week to maintain, but plan to take it less often as I heal and eventually on as needed. I have had a period, I have had sex, and have encountered other things that would usually be a trigger and NO odor or BV! I hope this helps someone! Message me if you need the brand name of the birth control pill I am taking, I'm happy to help.

I have suffered from BV for years and tried everything. Diet, prescription medication, changing underwear fabric etc etc and finally after 7 years read on another form about the isla soap stick. It balances the PH bacteria and works instantly. After two days of using it I noticed an immediate change in odor and within a week nothing!!!! I then used it once to twice a week and now completely BV free!!! It's been 8 months now and once a week or every fortnight I will use it just as a maintenance precaution. I cannot tell you how happy I am that I finally found something that worked. Nothing else worked and was starting to think I would have BV forever. You can buy it online on their website.
