BV free and still live in fear.

Posted , 10 users are following.

I have been bv free for almost a year. I stil do not like using the restroom in public because there is a constant fair that I might smell. I hate trying to be intimate with my man because i might smell. I am always buying those little test at Walmart to see if it has came back. It's always negative, (Thank God) however I'm spending money I don't have because I'm always afraid it has came back. I wish i could just relax and know that it will not come back. 0

Congratulations!! It's always so good to hear positive stories!! I've been BV free for going on 5 months.... it's hard not to think it'll come back, but just don't stress yourself out to the point that you make yourself sick about it! Live your life girlfriend.. Sharing our stories on how we got rid of this awful mess is what will help others that are in the shoes we once wore!!

    peace and love

First, relax. The worst is that it comes back and if that happens then you can take medication.

My gyno recommended rePHresh, it's a vaginal/body wash after I had BV. I get mine on amazon.

Have fun, life is short! Enjoy life and don't worry.

well, throw all my old panties away. i stop using Always pads, i also add vitamin D to my diet.

I took metronidazole gel for 2-3 nights after my period.

i really think that throwing away my old panties helped

What type of a test do you buy at Walmart? Are you referring to Ph testing strips?

Also, congratulations on being BV free, enjoy your health and your life. Living in fear is only holding you back, they always say that your thoughts (especially negative ones), shape your outcomes. So, every time you are scared that BV might come back tell yourself mentally : "I won this battle, I'm healthy and I will remain healthy and enjoy my life!" to chase away any negative thoughts! Good luck and good health to you!

The PH strips don't work for me but I have to use the antibiotic Trindamax, had great results but it still takes weeks for the pain to go away. I ended up having to go to a Pelvic floor specialist because I was so weak in my pelvic floor (vaginal muscles).

If you are worried, use rePhresh the wash and the vaginal cleanser, also squeeze a lemon in your water everyday....it helps balance your PH.

    Good luck!!!!!

girl I feel you, I've managed my symptoms for nearly two years. I still check a good ten times per day sometimes to make sure the smell isn't there. Everytime I go to the bathroom like you said I worry, and always check to make sure it has not come back. Each time right before I smell its a very anxious and depressing moment. Even if you don't have symptoms anymore its always with you, because there is always that what if. I have maybe let me man eat me out a handful if times most after my symptoms have gone away over the course of 6 years. Because like you said you always worry about the smell. What I have come to learn is that yes, there may be a day that it COULD come back it doesn't mean it will. So we have to enjoy the days that it does not follow us. Message me if you need to!
