BV ON LIPS

I suffer from chronic BV. When it comes I get painful, itchy, irritated, dry lips. They get tiny blisters around them too. The first two times this happened the blisters were all over my lips and oozed!! Doctors keep telling me that the BV does not cause this....YES IT DOES!!! It ONLY happens when I have full blown BV!! I need doctors to know this!!! And help!!! It's awful!! Can anyone relate?

So sorry to hear about this.

I am a chronic sufferer too. I do not go a day without symptoms and this has been going on neary a year.

I get itchy, sore discharge. Every single day.

I've been tested for absolutely all STI's. I even went private to get tested for mycroplasma/ureaplasma which came back negative - twice.

I've been on countless metronidazole courses, clindamicin cream, steroid cream as it was so sore down there it actually started to crack my skin like little cuts.

I've found one thing that helps with symptoms but doesn't go away forever - Balance Active Gel. I use it every night I have got it on a repeat prescription from the doc. Do you get these symptoms every day?

No. I usually get better after taking the Metronidazole pills. I started getting BV a couple years ago when my then boyfriend would cum inside of me. I figured I was just "allergic" to his symen. But now I get it every couple months, no longer with him. I am very moist down there so I figure that sets me up for failure! Plus had the thought that my alcohol consumption, I drink brown, might throw my ph off...currently using the gel I had left over. I was planning on going to PP to see doc but no time. The smell is my biggest complaint, outside the lip rash... I wouldn't even care so much if mt lips didn't get affected!! That is my biggest issue!! Ugh

Yes. The corners of my mouth crack and my lips fell super dry and rough, like sand paper.
