I have had BV going on 5 years now and i am a firm believer that metro gel or the antibiotics are not effective in treating BV. i also think the side effects can cause more damage than good. I have been able to keep my BV control by using boric acid suppositories right after my period for a day or two and if i feel like i need a little extra support, i will put tea tree oil essential oil with lavender essential oil on a tampon and that seems to do the trick. Also be careful of the soaps you use to clean with. i have found that regular dove is the best one for me.

you could try bv suppositories ( balance active)
vitamin c suppositories
black seed oil
tea tree insert gels
that's nature remedies if that fails
boric acid I had bv 4 years non stop boric acid was the only thing that helped and I changed my diet by drinking loads water eating fruit and multivitamins
yogarts .
hope that helps .
antibiotics never work but the antibiotics you insert in the uk its starts with C ( can't spell it)

Selena, stick with the Metronidazole or a similar antifungal. Trust me, it works, but you've got to stick it out for the duration that is recommended.
