Bv treatments that have worked for y'all?

Back in 2013 I had a BAD case of BV. The local health department gave me some medicine and it wiped it out completely, I mean it was incredible how fast it went away. My symptoms were awful. Didn't have it for 3 years. Back in 2016 I was sleeping with this guy and it just out of nowhere came back. It would get better after antibiotics then come back again after my period. Then I went off birth control and it stopped again for a year. After that year, its come back and I continuously have it. Antibiotics do absolutely nothing. I've just went through a medically induced menopause due to endometriosis and i had it the entire treatment of that as well. Even without hormones. Fast forward 8 months. I've finished my lupron and I'm gaining my estrogen back. I always go to the doctor regarding it and know when I have it. He tells that me that we are in fact supposed to have that bacteria inside our vagina but sometimes it multiplies when pH gets high.

The difference between my symptoms and most of the ladies on here is mine isn't bad. It does make me insecure that I'm not able to enjoy foreplay with my fiance. But I am able to have sex with it.

My symptoms sometimes include:

*Itching- when I discharge it does itch. Almost as if my discharge is acidic.

*Burning- sometimes it does burn to urinate. As if I have a UTI but i don't.

*Specific smell- I have NO fish odor, ever. This smell is almost like a glue smell. It isn't strong but it's there.

*Color/texture of discharge- it's not thin but not thick and sometimes i barely have any, other times it comes out at once. Color varies from white to light yellow

That's it. Nothing else. The doctors have tried vaginal flagyl multiple times and I could not tell you how many times we have tried oral flagyl and clindamycin.

I've changed my soap to dove, I only wear cotton, I've changed my shampoos, laundry soaps, etc.

I just took an oral vit C 500mg tablet. I'm not sure I trust oral Vit C in my vagina just yet. If this doesn't work after a week, I may ask my doctor about Prevegyne (vaginal vit c suppositories) Have any of y'all had ANY luck???

    nope i havent. i got bv after unprotected sex with this guy i had a one night stand with( biggest regret ever) in march and it wont go away no matter what i try : ( im beginning to lose hope. At first i tries metronidizol pills and vaginal gel , then boric acid capsules and the only thing that helped with is the odor so i guess thats good before i had this awful fish smell. i havent had odor since the boric acid. I still get constant vaginal burning and irritation. yellow greenish discharge not alot tho. pain when urination sometimes like i have a uti but dont . Pain during sex, pelvic/abdominal pain/burning from time to time. Im trying clindomycin cream next, I hope it works because ive tried all the natural remedies such as probiotics,vitamin d, c,b,. Salt baths. baking soda baths. tea tree oil. Somebody can u plz tell me how to get rid of this. Literally ruining my life.

      I am right there with you. I haven't tried any herbal remedies yet because my doctor tells me to never put anything in my vagina because it could mess with the pH even more. I'm starting vit C orally today to see if I have any luck just adding to diet.

      lmk if that helps, i was taking 1 vitamin c 1000 mg with rose hips daily but stopped after a couple of weeks but going to start up again this time 2 times a day to see if it helps.

      Well, update.

      I went to the doctor yesterday and I didn't have BV or a yeast infection. He said I only had good bacteria. But I believe that's because I was taking a probiotic for three months (Refresh brand in purple and blue box) So we have NO idea what I have going on. He has put me on doxycycline for a week to see if it will help. He believes it's just my vagina and how it works. (Keep in mind I've had a leap for severe precancerous cells on my cervix from HPV back in 2013 and I have endometriosis! SO maybe this is my normal now.

      Aw i hope it isnt ur new normal and that u get relief of ur symptoms soon!

      hey ! how did clindomycin work for you?? i have been wanting to ask for that medication.. i cant get rid of bv!

    your symptoms are almost exactly like mine. im almost about to give up and just live with it😭
