BV- Worried about PID- please help!

Hi,

I was recently diagnosed with BV and now im concerned I might have PID as a side effect.

If I did have PID it would be because of the BV as I have no other related issues. If this is the case, would my partner need to be tested and potentially treated too?

From my understanding, they'd need to be tested if the cause of the PID was unknown (since its mainly related to stds) but since PID itself isnt transmitted then do I need to worry?

Sorry if this doesn't make much sense, thank you!

he would only need testing if pid was caused by an std bv is not an std and only women get it its something that only women get because uts a change in vaginal flora

I have the same issue, PID but the only thing that comes up in swabs is BV. I'm having my husband tested for bacteria in sperm as I'm at my wits' end. I read several studies saying they found this bacteria called Gardnerella in the sperm of men. This is the same causing BV in women. As a precaution, even if PID isn't due to STD, partner may still be carrying comensal anaerobic bacteria in semen.
