I'm not a medical doctor but as I understand the C/D means "cup to disc" - and ratio means the total diameter of the optic disc. The measurement is used to check for glaucoma. A normal C/D ratio is 0.3. But your number could be age related. What did your doctor say?
Note if you do a computer search of your question you'll find a more detailed explanation with diagrams (much more informative than mine!):
"A good analogy to better understand the cup-to-disc ratio is the ratio of a donut hole to a donut. The hole represents the cup and the surrounding area the disc. If the cup fills 1/10 of the disc, the ratio will be 0.1. If it fills 7/10 of the disc, the ratio is 0.7. The normal cup-to-disc ratio is 0.3. A large cup-to-disc ratio may imply glaucoma or other pathology."

hi... as explained by the other reply it means the cup to disc ratio. It's best to go to a eye surgeon and get an opinion. sometimes the cupping is genetics and not related to glaucoma. in order to diagnose they will check your peripheral vision, eye pressure, angle etc.. most important thing is early detection. my cupping is about 6.7 and 6.8 in each eye. so I need to do the test every 6 months to see if it changes.
early detection can manage almost all conditions.
good luck to you.
