C2 vertabra trapped nerve and carpal tunnel in wrist.

I was diagnosed in 2011 with carpol tunnel in the right wrist and pinched nerve in the neck due to joint wear and tear. Now in 2015 I have a trapped nerve in the neck as my vertabra has deteriorated I'm just turned 39. The pain it's self from both together can be excruciating... I've been put on gabapantin not really helping that much as yet and I'm taking the maximum amount of pain killers I can.. Has anyone got any suggestions for some relief.. I am trying to digest the fact that I feel very young and able but my body isn't on the same level.

Hi Kay, my nephew has the same problem from a car accident. He was able to have surgery to have a plate put in his neck. It has helped but still has pain. The doctor he sees at pain management put him on loratabs and an inflammatory med. Some days are good and some bad. He gets sever headaches if he stresses. He also takes klonopin(not sure if it is spelt right). Hope you are able to find the answers you are needing. Best wishes. Jmac

Hi. If Gabapentin is not working for you, your GP should move you onto Pregabalin. This is similar, but better with less side effects.  GP's will always try Gabapentin first as it's a cheaper drug.   Good luck.
