CA-125 Results Update

Hi Everyone,

I had my CA-125 blood test on Wednesday and so plucked up the courage to ring my doctors this afternoon. I have to say that I have never been so nervous in all my life. Well, the good news is that it's normal thank you god! I embarrassingly broke down in tears after the receptionist told me and she then asked if I wanted to speak to someone. I was just soooo relieved!

So I've got my ultrasound AGAIN in just under 2 weeks to see what's going on but I am a little less stressed now and can at least get through the weekend without blood results In the back of my mind.

Hope you all have as restful a weekend as possible. xx

Aww Amy, what a relief for you. So thankful too! Good luck with the op, I am sure it will all go smoothly.

Not sure where I am until I have this next scan. I had a simple cyst last month which seemed to be disppearing but has now returned or at least feels like it has. May end up with a laproscopy myself. xx

    Dear Susie

Glad to hear about your results, I am a little unsure about the types of cysts, I was told that i have two that have shrunk since last time and they didnt need to see me until the end of the year I think it was, I know about the folicle cyst but unsure of the other types!

Hi Pinkcatfairy, yes thank you...me too!  They originally said mine was a water cyst (doesnt sound very technical lol) but my gynae and I came to the conclusion after an internal that it had gone. Annoyingly though I am now getting similar symptoms again so I am back for more scans urghh. The world of cysts hey!

Yes it's all new to me, I wasn't having problems as such but because of family history my doctor said that I could go for scans and blood tests on the ovaries, I wasn't offered the brac gene blood tests so I opted for this. I have now decided to have ovaries removed as I am 51 and starting the menopause, hope you get sorted out x
