It says that if you haven't had your results within a couple of weeks, to contact your GP because 'results can get lost'

I'm sure mine came back within the same time span as the other blood tests that they do routinely

    Good luck!

Thank you for your reply. Received letter this morning with a hospital appointment for a pelvic ultrasound??!!! So rang docs and they said the blood results weren't back yet...so bit confused why I have to go for this scan.

Perhaps the blood results have gone back to someone at the hospital, don't worry about it & go for the scan.

      Good luck Debbie

Thank you really appreciate you taking time to reply. Heads all over the place at mo. Guess no point worrying about it. Thank you again

I can imagine that your head will be all over the place & I hope all goes well for you and you know that they are there for you.

As for the missing bloods, they must do hundreds/thousands every day & it is a miracle that more don't go missing.

Specialist tests cannot always be done at local centre, I was told some take 3 months, I guess it depends on the set up in your area. The scan appointment proves someone is working on it though so go for it!

    Hi,

    Are you based in UK?

I've had to get my CA125 levels checked twice in the past 6 weeks, both times blood taken on the Fri and both times the results were back by the Tues when I went to see my GP. I was surprised it was so quick but I asked the nurse when I got it the second time and she told me the results come back really quick but the delay in getting your results is usually the time needed for the GP to read them and put notes on the record so the receptionist can tell people when they call. I've never had to wait 2 weeks for blood tests- it does seem like there may be an error so I wonder if making an appointment with your GP would help as they may be able to chasse them up?

As for the ultrasound, I think it's normal for the GP to request the blood test and ultrasound at the same time- that's what happened with me too. I had my ultrasound a week after I was referred which was just before I had my blood test. I was told there and then what they saw in the ultrasound.

I hope you get some results soon, the waiting to know is so tough!
