My endoscopy started my entire problem of lump on the throat sensation. Doctors think my nerves were damaged. Don't know if this will ever go away. My throat is also inflamed as seen on a scope from the ent. Tried everything abd ready to just give up!

You could try Manuka Honey for inflammation. It's a very healing honey and its used for wound healing.Supposinngly it's best mixed with some warm water and taken on a empty stomach. If you google Manuka Honey and GERD you can find one womans story how she cured herself with it. The Manuka Honey had numbers attached to it (anti microbe factor I think). The higher the number the better it is but also more expensive.
All the best dom

Hi klc
I have always thought that my "pain/lump in the throat" was started by me having an endoscopy, Throat is inflamed and very very red which was pointed out when I had the nasal camera but I was not told that the problems may have started with the endoscopy but I personally feel they were. I have been suffering now for nearly 2 years with no sign of it getting better. I read on one of your replies from dominique that manuka honey may be worth a try so I am off to get some.
Let's hope it works.
All the best

So you had your endoscopy which showed no Gerd? Mine only showed a small Hiatal hernia no Gerd- they actually used the word beautiful! I only had one because I was having IBS type of pain in my upper stomach area I did not have any of these LPR symtpoms or lump in throat. About 4 days laster i started with this lump in throat. I have already tried Makuna Honey but it hasn't done much for me. The ENT put the scope down my nose to throat and said my throat is inflammed but I am wondering is it inflammed from the endoscopy or was it always inflammed? The GI doc did not mention seeing my throat inflammed after the endoscopy. So weird! My interenist said that it seems like they hurt my nerves and it can take a long time to heal but wondering if it ever will. I found a specialist near me that I am going to in 2 weeks specializing in LPR so we will see what he says. Hope I don't have to get my throat scoped again but probably will. Just at my wits end! Sorry you are having the same issues- 2 years ! I am going on 5 months and my quality of life is totally suffering- I am driving my family mad, my husband doesn't want to hear me complain anymore he just doesn't understand how it effects me. I try my best with my kids but I know I am under a lot of stress with this and I wish I could be a better mom as well. Let me know how you do with the honey and keep in touch it is so nice to have people to talk to who understand.

Its strange how many people mention the camera possibly starting symptoms. I am still waiting my first camera check but my symptoms all started not long after an operation earlier this year where I was sedated and had the breathing tube in. At first is was a sore throat/hoarse voice on and off and then has progressively gotten worse with heartburn and other symptoms. I wonder if this triggered the throat irritation amf that's then left me more susceptible to little bits of acid coming up because there's already irritated tissue there. I'm also thinking of trying the manuka honey as PPI's aren't doing a lot.

Your nerves might have been damaged during the operation. I am thinking that is what happened to me during my endoscopy This was the test that they go through your mouth down your esophagus to your stomach and take biopsies. I really think they damaged my vagus nerve because since then I have had this lump in throat sensation and feeling like food is not moving in my throat/esophagus which in turn causes acid reflux to the throat. It is terrible. There is a lot of information out there about how the vagus nerve controls the digestive system and if it is harmed it can wreck havoc on your entire system. I wish you lots of luck with the makuna honey- it is really tasty but doesn't seem to be doing the trick for me.

Hi dean I would ask who's doing it for you is it the doctor you saw I asked the one I saw the last time and he added a bit of something else in it made a lot of difference to me because I'm like you suffer from panic attacks and anxiety also depression I still did gag but this time when they told me to relax I could and sort of kept drifting off then I would start to gag again But I didn't care a much better experience good luck and let us know how you got on if your worried about it I bet there is a phone number you can ring or phone and ask to speak to the doctor your under secretary ask her if he could give you something else added in
