Can an old break cause pain?

when i was in 6-7th grade i broke and dislocated my finger at the same time. Dr. who was covering for the actual one said my finger wasn't broken and sent me on my way. a few weeks later we went to A physical therapist specialist because my grip and muscle strength was incredibly weak. They told me I had had a fracture. I was wondering if something like this could cause a pain now. I’ve noticed the fingers that were impacted(ring and pinky) in the break has started to contract to my hand differently or move differently. I can also pop the tendon in my ring finger over my knuckle and my finger or knuckle is deformed. I've just started to experience intense pain and a weak grip in the same hand in my wrist. i was just wondering if theres any relation.

Yes there may be a connection. An injury that isnt treated properly, especially to the hand or fingers can often develop arthritis. The contracting fingers may be due to a condition often called trigger finger or you may have a contracture but there is treatment for all these problems. Its best not to leave them too long before you seek help as it will probably get worse. You can try taking Ibuprofen for a week , as this often helps trigger finger, but I would advise you to get a professional opinion as well.
