Hi my lymph nodes come up in neck and groin area when I'm ill. They come up when I'm run down, I may not even feel run down, this happens on and off, been going on for years, with health anxiety we tend to think the worst, get gp to check if concerned but I ignore mine, they go after few days , don't keep touching them they may feel tender but otherwise just come and go??

Hi. I have bad anxiety as well. As edwina97301 said, lymph nodes swell when you are run down. I also have swollen lymph nodes, but there is apparently nothing wrong. Hopes this helps??

I have had the same thing. I was convinced I had lymphoma. I kept poking and prodding at myself and that just made it worse. It turns out my anxiety was causing my to be oversensitive to everything that happened in my body. I convince myself I have some form of cancer every few months. As someone said in another post, you can wait it out and see if the pain subsides. If you go that route, you have to stop touching your neck. Otherwise you will make this worse. You can also go to your doc and have them check for you. Hearing a doctor tell you nothing is amiss will help. They can also run a quick blood test to make sure your cell counts are normal. Based on your history of healthy anxiety and depression, I am guessing all of this has been brought on because of the HA.

    Hi Charlie

If there's swelling you should check it out immediately with your GP. What if it's a blood clot? It could be dangerous. Good Luck👍Why would it swell? 🤔Its not Anxiety it's real.

Ashley, I am not sure what your angle is here. Anxiety can cause all sorts of physiological changes in the body. Suggesting that this might be a blood clot and Charliee needs to see a GP right away is not something helpful to tell a person with health anxiety. And it looks like Charliee went to the doctor and they told him exactly what we all suggested, this was all a product of his anxiety. It wasn't even a lymph node issue and his/her blood work came back clean. Try not to stir up people's angst in here please.

Great reply. I'm not medically trained,' don't know about you, I can only reasure ' yes I've had that symptom and it can definately be anxiety, don't believe it helps to give anxiety sufferers a list of things it could be and cause more stress.    Great to ask advice here to put mind at rest that others have these symptoms then follow up with gp, hope it's just swollen glands, . Also ms was sujested for tingling of the hands etc, wow, can't remember who posted that, please ask gp,  could be many things , and ' yes'anxiety, if people google wish they'd keep their ability to diagnose to themselves? And help by telling  people thier actual experience, and how to cope and always visit gp , thought I was the only one reading these today😳??

No I know Anxiety is real. I have this problem too. I meant he's symptom could be something other than Anxiety. We can't always rule out everything because we have Anxiety. What if it's something bad?

I was not trying to anguish Charlie. My bad if you all misread what I wrote I was just trying to be helpful I read another post about lymph nodes and they said it could be a blood clot. It obviously isn't since he had tests and they came back fine. Anxiety does affect all the body. But we shouldn't dismiss everything as Anxiety. It's dangerous. Take Care👍

      Hey Edwina

Yeah that person was me. I told them they could have MS. What help is it, if we ALL say it's just Anxiety?...and say go see your GP and get help for it. We are not all the same. It's not helping. Its just reassuring them. sadI'm in this forum because I need help I want to know of people who have my problems and if there's a solution or if it's a health condition. I can't rule out anything because of my Anxiety. My concern here is different to everyone else's here because I do have a heart condition. Take Care. Sorry if you all took it the wrong way.

It swells because it swells, I've had them all my life , swells around the lymph node area, when I was little I called it swollen glands , in my neck, go to gp, extra reasurance ,especially medical is great, we can only tell you we have similar and sounds same, gp will really know, at this point don't worry about blood clots , and googling isn't great for people with anxiety, ??

      Hey Charlie lol😊 My bad...

So it's your muscle then. It could be dehydration or a minor infection. Since your doctor checked you out... I don't understand what would cause it. Now I understand what you said on another post. It is linked to ..

    Hi Charlie

I wont reply anymore to this post again. "When muscles get tense it can cause the lymph nodes to become more prominent, especially the nodes on the neck. Other places that lymph nodes may swell include the following

    Throat

    Armpit

    Groin

There are 500-600 nodes throughout the body with many of them in areas where the nodes are not noticed even if they are enlarged. Some types of anxiety will cause a person to hyper focus and the body can be one of them. Nodes that are of normal size and disease free may feel enlarged to an anxious person, which just breeds more anxiety. Take Caresmile
