Can anxiety actually do this?

I always wonder if anxiety can mess with your head and play tricks on you into something you fear the most. Like for example, if I'm scared of dying, does anxiety cause you to have symptoms that makes you feel like your life is in danger, since you keep stressing or worrying about it? I'm mostly always worry about my health and it seems like my anxiety makes it worst for me when I keep overthinking negative things, instead of staying positive about myself. It's such a daily struggle for me to learn how to cope with anxiety. I just wish I can have my life back to normal again.

Only all the time. Yes, sadly anxiety plays dirty tricks on us and we end up in a vicious cycle. Therapy might help give you some perspective, at least that's what it does for me (I struggle with health anxiety too). Take care!

Thank you Andreea for the response and reassurance. I'm hoping to see a therapist very soon for my anxiety issues. Just been so busy with work to find the right time to try to schedule to see a therapist. But, hope you take care as well and sorry you're going through health anxiety too.

Hi Cameron, I'm so sorry you're going through this, but I'm glad you're finally getting help and treated for it. It's really terrible to go through it, since anxiety will always make you worry that there could be something physically wrong with you, when in reality, you're just fine. I really hope things get better for you and that one day everything will be back to normal again. Take care of yourself.
