Can anxiety cause me to become sick/cold/flu, can cold/flu be psychological?

Hi, im completely new to this but i havent found any other forums with the same question! Basically, every time i make plans, i always seem to either catch a cold/flu, my period falls on that day or something always just happens that ruins it! I do suffer with anxiety slightly and my sister has said she thinks is psychological because im nervous for the day or event, but im not! Im usually excited about the event or day planned, and the symptoms then ruin it! Could this be psychological as something always seems to happen whenever i make plans? Or is it just bad luck?

Thank you!

anxiety and stress can lower your immune system which can make you more vulnerable to getting viruses, colds, or the flu.

get help with the anxiety, because it can be underlying where you’re not even aware of it sometimes.

make sure you are eating healthy with lots of vegetables . get some exercise regularly.

i think there could be a connection. any medical professional would probably disagree. every single time i have something going on i have stomach issues even if i am not nervous about the event. then there are times that i feel like i am coming down with a cold or flu. i get a scratchy throat and body aches. it happens often. when this happens to you, do you get full blown sick? mine usually goes away after a short time, especially with some rest. im convinced that anxiety can do all sorts of crazy things.

Does it always happen on those days, or just a lot of the time? I rarely take my annual leave in anything more than a couple of days at the time in case I get ill with a bad cold, but when I do take a week off it doesn't always happen.
