Can anxiety cause tinnitus??

Hello again! Does anybody know if anxiety can cause tinnitus or citalopram? I have never had this before and it's come on over the last few weeks, seems to be getting worse but as I have health anxiety maybe im making it worse??

GP says ears look fine and can't tell me why it's happening. Have a neurology appointment in June but I have got to go on holiday before them I'm worried. I don't think tinnitus can be caused?

I hate this anxiety!!!

I hate anxiety as well and tinnitus isn't actually in the ear, it's in the brain. It's a chord that goes from the brain to the ear or something. Anxiety can very well cause it and same with Lexapro. Which is a version of Celexa. I took it for a couple days and it made mine SO much worse so I stopped taking it. Actually I think it got worse after I stopped taking it, I can't remember. All in all yes it can cause tinnitus. I'm sorry.

Trust me, I know how you feel. Everyday I wake up wondering who I am and whet the old me is. I'm dealing with an inner ear issue as well so everything had been horrible. I know it's anxiety messing with me but I still constantly feel like im going to die or go crazy. The truth is were fine. Stews has taken over and our adrenaline is kicked up in high gear but no matter what it WILL stop, this will get better. Just remember these two quotes. "This too shall pass" & "It can't rain all the time" Try and have a little faith in yourself. I should be listening to my own advice but sometimes it's just extremely hard. Take care.
