Can Anxiety Increase Your Heartrate All Day?

Hi, last night I noticed that my heart was beating fast which put me in a panic. My chest was hurt and everything. So I went to the emergency room,
after all test came back negeative, my heart still has not come down. It has been consistantly beating around 85-95 bpm at rest, even when I am not anxious. I am use to being 65-74 at rest. When I stand my heart beats a lot faster and harder.
Doctors say it anxiety reaction, sinus tachycardia. I've never had this before and am scared. Heart rate has been increased for over 9 hours. Is this really anxiety? Will it go away? Please I need help.

But it has gone up to 148 bpm when resting in hospital.
My heart rate when I first wake up in the morning is normally 83 bpm.
My blood pressure varies thoughout the day but it is between
121-129 over 83-90 which is OK. Also my ecg is normal.
I always think my heart rate will be about 100 bpm because I have had anxiety over 30 years.

I have gone to ER with heart rate of 220. Sinus Tach. Bad panic attack. I'm in my 30's. When your system goes full blown panic it can actually take quite a while for your vitals to return to normal. It is anxiety. You will probably benefit from a beta blocker small dose like propranolol or even a little xanax might bring things back but I wanted to tell you that without using any meds it might take a while for things to go back. With anxiety issues , your system stays "on guard". I know you will be fine. I'm here to chat if you need any help

Yes, I have been stuck with an elevated heartrate for a prolonged period of time in the past. As someone else mentioned, a small beta blocker dosage helped mitigate that for me. 85-95 isn't really THAT high, I'd attribute that to the nervousness you're experiencing about your heartrate. It's a viscious cycle, worrying about it makes your heartrate increase, then once you became aware of the increase it incites more panic. When my anxiety was at it's aboslute worst, I experienced elevated heartrate even in my sleep, because my mind was THAT fixated on the issue.

hi I feel for you but that resting heart rate is perfectly normal range. and if you suffer anxiety it's actually pretty good. if I may ask how often are you checking your pulse? if you continue to check it it will stay elevated and even rise higher because of your anxiety of it being raised. I'm currently having the same issue but my heart rate is low and even went to emergency to have it looked at. if you stop checking it even for an hour then check I assure it will lower
