Can anxiety really do this???

Sorry in advice that this is probably going to be long I just hope to get some answers.

I have made many posts on here. I have been told by a doctor I have anxiety/panic attack disorder. I was tryed on meds but didn't help and the side effects was horrible so I am now on vaulim for long term use to treat my anxiety which scares me because I know you can become tolerance to them and get hooked. I know if I could convince myself it's just anxiety I would be ok.

My symptoms ( from the time I wake to bed time)

Feeling that something isn't right ( can't explan it)

Weird heart flutters

Dizziness

Shortness of breath

Feeling as if I am not real or objects are moving from me.

Weakness in my legs. Feeling as if my legs are going to give out/stop working.

Feeling tired ALL THE TIME. Only once this has happened my vision went blurred while I was driving lucky I had my mom with me she helped me get pulled over. It stopped within 1 minute it was so odd I went the rest of the day just fine I was very scared but it hasn't happened no more

I am 26 and I have two kids. My life has been took from me and I want to get it back. I don't want to leave the house, I won't drive by myself , I don't like being left alone with my kids. I am just a mess and seems like nothing is getting better.

How could anxiety cause all of this?

How do I stop it and take control. All I want is my life back and be a mother to my kids. Live life again not be in fear and feeling sick 24/7

I am wondering if I should keep up the use of my vauilm. Has anyone ever took vaulim for long term use?

Hi Brittany your symptoms sound just like mine which mine started about a month-and-a-half ago after a panic attack I had while driving the symptoms I experienced are similar to yours everyday I wake up I experience shortness of breath dizziness hot flashes and a weird feeling in my mind that something's not right I've been to several doctors and had different Diagnostics which are echocardiogram EKG blood test x-ray and they all come out normal..

My current meds are citalopram 40mg Propranolol 20mg Buspar 7mg also have an inhaler it seems to help slightly but not quite.

Have you both had your thyroid, Vitamin D levels, iron levels, and sinuses checked?

Valium or diazapam long term is only thing that helped me . Tried opiats and anti depressants ( useless for me) my doc prescribes small amounts as he knows if I start taking too many to get relief from this horrid anxiety I would take more ( l know this because we all want something to take this away. . So diazapam ,talking, pushing myself.. things are better. Everyone's different maybe not best med for you. Just like we all have different anxiety symptoms. Mine are like yours but mainly pounding heart, feeling of dread , obsesss over everything and can't get head to stop. Also avoid socialising. Get.verynervy. Sweat and shake.my neck back muscles ache and migraine cos I'm so uptight. Also like everyone fear my heart will pack in when racing but now realise it's just anxiety . ??

Hi Brittany, buspar is an anti anxiolitic but takes time to get to work so you may find the buspar takes over from the Valium. You might benefit also from CBT to help you get on top of the anxiety.

All the things you struggle to do such as leaving the house can be a burden if you let them become that, I didn't want to leave the house but when I had to I did and the anxiety was not as bad as my head told me it would be.

Read up about coping with anxiety and do ask your GP about CBT.

    You will get better!
