Can anxiety wake you up in the middle of the night?

Hello,all,

I'm trying to find some reason for my middle of the night/early morning awakenings.

In the past I've had anxiety over sleep which lead to problems falling asleep.

I've managed to get over this without the use of pills, just by acceptance and making peace with my situation.

But now, although I'm still calm going to bed, and fall asleep without a problem, I never get enough sleep to feel good. Either it's waking up middle of night or early in the morning. this happens every single night and I'm chronically exhausted.

After more than 2 years of stubbornly trying to ignore my problem hoping it would go away like it did once before, I am now aware that it isn't going away, so I'm looking for a possible cause, and hopefully a solution.

I'm young, in my thirties, no existential, financial or other kinds of worries that I know of. I go to sleep calm, fall asleep nicely, but always wake up too early and can't go back to sleep.

Do you have any advice what I should go and have checked?

Thank you.
