Can anxious mind fake symptoms?

My health anxiety is really severe! I always google symptoms and disease and I have really started to worry about getting deja vu or deja senti because I have read that it is a symptom of epilepsy and last two weeks I experience a lot of deja vu/deja senti and I feel like I have it all the now! Everything seems to me like deja now!!!Even my imaginations seems like deja and I have it even at my dreams at night!!!! I'm so scared of it and my anxiety and panic are getting worse!

But can my mind fake this symptom to me just because I read about it and got scared and think too much about it??

I believe you can, I go through this everyday. I also have servere health anxiety and I spend hours everyday googling, just putting me throw the roof. I sometimes can't deal with the emotional rollercoaster it puts you throw. the more you read.... the more your mind will make you FEEL a symptom. your brain wants you to stay in this visious cycle.

      Thank you very much!

Yes! Health anxiety is so horrible!!! I can't believe how awful it is constantly think about having a disease!!!

But this deja drove me pretty crazy and horribly anxious! I have phobia and trauma from epilepsy...I was OK but I started to read about it and my symptoms start to be similar...I don't know if it just my mind or if it's real...

I completely understand about your epilepsy symptoms!! what happened?? I actually have the same fear, with Afib!! a few months ago my heart went out of rythym and I read up on Afib and can be life threatening leading to stroke. The medics confirmed Afib but the cardiologist says I'll be ok with no meds. The more I read... the more I freak. Thinking Im gonna drop dead any minute!!

hi, how long was your heart out of rythym for? i suffer palpitations and have done for many years. sometimes i get them more often then others...ive had an ECG and results came back normal but i still worry. my palps literally last a couple of beats then my heart goes back to its natural rythym.

hi, yes I get palps all the time too. but this was different. I was out of rythym for about 30 min. by the time medics got me to the hospital, I was normal

I used to have deja vu as a child, no very often, but I did...during my teen age deja vu was very rare for me...maybe once a year maybe less...but I suffer from anxiety and health anxiety since my childhood and three months ago I got panic attack because of stressful situation...since that I have anxiety attacks and I start to worry that I could have serious disease...for example epilepsy and I have read that there are deja vu episodes related with epilepsy and since that I feel like I have deja vu all the time! Some episodes are very weak and short like a second or two and few times I got stronger whit about three seconds...as soon as I got it, I immediately try to interrupt them (usually successfuly) but I got it three times during I sleep and I woke up in panic because I'm too scared of them now!

Now I feel like all my thoughts and images in mind are deja vu like...all I do and say seems like deja for me...

Besides deja vu I have adrenalin rushes, few second panic attacks, depersonalisation, blurry vision, ....it all suits to epilepsy

I got EEG don, it came normal, but I have heard that this epilepsy is not shown on EEG...

yes anxiety can literally make you feel a ache or pain thats not actually real!

you can actually think of a ache or pain and you will start to feel it... its crazy how anxiety can take over you as a person, you need to be in control of the anxiety and not let it control you. i know its harder said than done, but i have come out the other end and it is 100% possible to do.

hi hun! i know how your feeling i google daily! i cant read a news article without worrying it will happen to me. i grew up with my brother having epilepsy and also my sister has suffered a seizure as well as my nana and niece...i worry i have epilepsy but not as much as other illnesses. i sometimes have so many strange sensations its really hard to put into words. i put it down to my anxiety. i have a sudden moment of panic like a feeling comes over me and i always have to stand up and walk around as i feel like my head is going tight or that im going to fall if that makes sense. ive looked it up and talked to various people and its all a symptom of anxiety! even tho i know this i still worry. its a horrible thing go live with. every day it latches onto you.
