Can any describe their fibromyalgia pain to me?

No one can really describe what the pain is like for fibromyalgia because everyone is different. For me to describe my pain would be impossible. Fibromyalgia is widespread pain, aches all over the body. For me some parts of my body are worse than others. Not just the pain but all the other symptoms too. Insomnia is one of my many symptoms and have suffered with that for over 8 years. Restless leg syndrome is another of my many symptoms. Symptoms are too many to even mention. As for the tender points if you google "fibromyalgia tender points" you'll be able to see a diagram.

Denise is absolutely right, the way she has just oulined it, she could be talking about me.  I am sending you something written by someone else.  I've tried sending it to others on here, but it gets removed, so I'm sending it via a PM. It makes for good reading. 

I was just diagnosed after YEARS of suffering. My family Dr. told me I didn't have fibromyalgia that I needed to exercise and get a massage to take the "knots" out of my back. I also have RA so she said I have arthritis as well. After 6 months of waiting for an appointment I finally got in to see a a Rheumatologist. He did all kinds of testing and finally diagnosed me. Yes I do have severe rheumatoid arthritis AND FIBROMYALGIA. Imagine that when my family Dr. saw that! Anyway, to answer your question...the top of my legs are EXTREMELY sensitive to touch. My 10lb chi can't even get on my lap. Behind my shoulder blades is very tender, my shoulders and neck and my lower back. I CAN NOT be touched by anyone or anything. It can bring tears to my eyes. I hope this helps. Btw, they started me on Lyrics a week ago. No signs of relief yet. I have an appointment at a pain clinic next week bc its getting worse. 😞

i have had fibromyalgia for abour13 years and as othershave said the pain is widespead and can change from day to day. i remember when i first startedwith fibro i used to get what i called " electric cattle prod pain" they would just happen out of the blue and i couldn't help but yelp when they happened. Luckily they eased up over a couple of years and i no longer have them. i hope you get the help you need. take care, deb

I hope you don't have fibro, but a lot of your symptoms suggest you do.

There are so many tender points, but the shoulders /neck omg like someone is winding up your body

Hurts everywhere.....check out my post I feel it coming in the nite, thats when I get a fibro flare

I have both. My fibro I get flu symptoms and feel exausted like I don't feel like doing anything. I hurt all over. I was diagnosed with hypo-thyroid too. When I was diagnosed my hair was falling out in globs. They put me on medd and I am fine now.
