Can any expert tell me what’s wrong?

Hey everyone,

Years ago i snapped my big toe nail playing soccer and i was told it would never grow back. Well its grown back but all jacked up. There is no foul/bad smell, no extreme discoloration, no itching/burning sensation, and does not hurt to the touch. Its very rough and cracked-like surface with an indentation in the middle. Can anyone tell me if this is actually fungus? is there anyway to help the nail return to a normal state?

Thanks!

Certainly looks as if you have a fungal infection, and even if you havent it will do no harm to start treating as such. There is usually no smell or pain/itching/ burning with fungal infection in the nails. There are lots of things you can buy, but dont go for the cheapest, go for the most expensive one you can afford. If you are in UK look at the range in Boots. There will be no miracle results as it takes time for the nail to grow out and you have to use the medication every day. You can also try asking your GP if you can send nail clippings for testing.
