I was diagnosed with shingles 1 week ago, had horrific back pain and
then the spots. Was prescribed anti viral and painkillers. Think iv had every symptom imaginable. Spots gone but am numb around the area and still have pain and fatigue. Any suggestion to help with this. Thanks

Cooling the skin helps, but, not too cool as I've read that cam be a trigger to the nerve also. I use freezer packs (soft) with towel between skin & pack when I sleep. Helps a lot. (Mine on face, eye, ear for 15 years). Try antihistamine eye drops? They helped me with itch. & antiviral eye drops prescribed at beginning. Don't damage your eye. It gets scarring. Super Lysine! Start with 6 a day!

While some on the site take Lysine supplements, if you have liver, cardiac, or kidney disease, they are contraindicated. If you Google the Lysine/Arginine diet regarding Herpes Zoster-Shingles, you will find the foods to eat and avoid. I know that eating nuts exacerbates my Herpes Zoster-Shingles immensely.
I eat the Lysine rich foods anyway, and try to avoid the nuts..now if I could only avoid them in my life,. All would be great!
Best regards
