Can anyone help me solve the cause of these symptoms and what’s going on??

For the past several years my symptoms have been causing my extreme distress and have left me house and bed bound and completely isolated. My symptom prodominantly effect my cognitive function like reading, concentrating and communicating. I have a constant debilitating high pitch ring in both ears and my vision is impaired as in they feel as if they are not working together and there is constant movement. If I try to keep my eyes still and focused on one area my vision begins to blur and double vision, it’s almost like my eyes need to have constant movement to be able to see. It basically feels like I’m brain dead and staring in to space like a frozen glare. I also have an overwhelming urge to constantly move especially my feet and ankles, my hips and my neck. If I don’t move I can’t explain the feeling but it’s like I want to crawl out of my own skin it is extreme agitation! A little bit more about my cognitive and speech I seem to repeat words and sentences to a rhythm over and over in my head most of the time in sync with the movement of my feet, very strange I know! Recently I have noticed I have been pulling strange faces every now and then through out the day like tightly scrunching up my face and tightly holding my eyes closed. I have also found that I have been having random urges to shout random things. It’s all very overwhelming, very agitating and very strange. When it comes to interacting verbally in person or even over the phone I completely freak out and have some kind of attack or fit, it’s the most terrifying unexplainable feeling like someone has taken my ability to speak away and my whole body just seems ultra sensitive and my eyes want to roll into the back of my head! When it comes to sleeping and getting rest it is impossible! It’s like the switch is left on in my brain 24/7. When I get into bed I constantly move maybe every 30 seconds other wise the agitation is unbearable, maybe get about 1-2 hours of sleep a night and that is not rested sleep it’s intense dreaming like a movie playing over in my head I believe this is called R.E.M. sleep. From when I close my eyes it’s like the movie begins. So not only am I exhausted but now I m extremely low and depressed as I can not function in society and am constantly in a state of discomfort I just can’t explain. I’ve been seen by GPs and specialist constantly and have been diagnosed with all sorts but nothing seems to be getting better or fixed. The main diagnosis has been anxiety and I have been down every route to help with this but nothing gets better. Medication has made me worse or not helped at all. I do generally feel that it’s not anxiety like my body is telling me something is wrong! I still continue to take an antidepressant but i see no light at the end of the tunnel with this. I could go on and on with the symptoms extreme fatigue, aches and pains but I think I have mentioned the main symptoms. Thanks for taking the time to read this. If anyone can help in anyway, if it sounds like something you recognise or from personal experience I would love to hear from you. It’s very complex and difficult but anything is worth ago.

Thank you

Keith, have you researche'd any if this. Like maybe not all the symptoms but break it dwn it small bits and research and then add anothr symptom etc. Oh how I feel for you. I know sometimes I get restless Leg syndrome and that is enough to drive me crazy but it leaves aftr about 20 min or so. Iv had where my eyes felt like rem and have one time experienced like lit snowflakes circling around everytime I closed my eyes. Lasted a few min was all. I can't imagine though what u r Goin thru. I went to my ENT and he gave me tests for my eyes and sound to brain etc. Forget what the test was called..maybe tho an ENT can help. He sent me to an audiologist who checked those things out. The name was something ... gram..hate whn I can't remember..research rem of the eyes and see what ya come up with. I will pray to the great physician for you..Hang in there and never give up!!

Have you been checked for Lyme disease?

I have had similar symptoms for the past 4 years. For me the main root of the problem was chiropractic. My atlas bone was out of alignment.

    Hi Keith,

I guess it feels quite scary not knowing what all this means. I have similar symptoms but not all the time. I do have the tinnitus most the time, the worst ever being where the high pitched ringing was louder than a crowded shopping centre at Christmas (i was actually at the shopping centre and that was awful) i get the oscillating eyes (constant movement) and double vision (doc told me this is most possibly linked to migraine and not to worry) i get restless legs too. I can slur speech, not be able to speek and forget words plus, memory issues. I don't have restful sleep and am often housebound. I have had the different symptoms on/off for over 5 years and my trigger was a car crash. Did your symptoms have a trigger? Vitamin d deficiency, iron and for others different mineral deficiency can cause some of the symptoms. Lymes, lupus or post viral syndrome can also cause such symptoms. I myself have cfs/me.

I think that alot of the symptoms could be seen as anxiety related but, i myself am not anxious. My symptoms happen regardless of my feelings although of course, low mood does come with the exhaustion and other symptoms. So, am aware of how you might feel? It's taken me time to understand that i have to rest and do things in small amounts to retain my energy. My condition means i don't store it like people usually do and so my main concern is energy. The other symptoms, plus various pains, i see as part of the condition. You could Google and see what you think?

I know it's hard but, try to tell yourself it's ok and that the symptoms are just "there" and that if like Terrie says you do a search on them, there is most probably ways to manage them.

For the eye issue, i close my eyes and open, close (for a few seconds) and open. Till they adjust. For double vision, close the eye that feels tightest (my right feels tighter when it's in double vision) keep opening slightly till symptoms have gone down. Try to regulate your breathing and look at relaxation to help. This really can help the symptoms and may seem a bit "out there" but, think how you're not getting good sleep and the body needs to get some rest.

Starting to fade now so will leave it there.hope it helps
