Can appendicitis raise faecal calprotectin result?

I have been having symptoms of Crohns for the last few years and this year it has got a lot worse. I have had a lot of tests done. However the test that showed something was the Faecal Calprotectin test. However I had this test a week before i thought I had a flare up as I had all the usual symptoms, which the hospital presumed I had appendicitis because I had pain in the lower right side. I had surgery and on all of my paperwork it says appendicitis even though it felt like a flare up I usually get. Now the doctors see this on my notes they are ignoring the fact I have a raised Calprotectin result. My question is can having ‘Appendicitis’ cause it to be raised?
