Can certain foods or drinks react with this medication making you sick?

Hi I've been on mirtazapine for almost a week now it's going okish it's helping me sleep but whenever I drink apple juice or any citrus juices it makes me sick. Now before I started this did not happen at all and it worrying me quite a lot it happened other night too when I ate garlic bread. Please someone give me some advice ASAP x Thanks

    Hi Danielle, I would doubt that it is the Mirt as it has quite strong antiemetic properties (anti-nausea).

    However if you feel it is no coincidence and it doesn't subside go straight back to your Doc and let him know this med is not suited for you. Hope things get better.

    I have been on mirtazapine for a few months. While it makes me sleepy in midafternoon I have never had any digestive problems with food or drink. I agree with Stu. You should go back to our doctor and seek answers there.

    I don't think it is the mirt either. One of the reasons I went on it was because I had nausea which prevented me eating for much of the day. The mirtazapine cured this nausea straight away.
