    Hi Anne,

Wether you agree with what was said or not they will always report their findings back to your gp.

    Hello anne,

I think you will find information is shared between them,  possibly by telephone or / and by letter or email.

Hope you get the help you need,  you could ask your GP to refer you to another consultant for a second opinion,  you may find someone else to be more helpful.

    Regards

That depends. If your gp referred you to the hospital for testing or to see a specialist or whatever than the communication is already open and they will send the results to your gp as well. If you go on your own, you fill out who to share the results with on your paperwork at the beginning and if you listed your gp, those results can be shared.

So only if you went on your own without a referral and didn't list your gp can you keep it private so to speak.

Did you tell your consultant you did not agree with what he said?   A letter will go back to your GP with whatever the consultant discussed with you and recommendations for treatment,if any. Why not go back to your GP and tell him/her that you are not happy with what has been said and discuss the options?
