Hi, I also suffer with lower back ache in the night, occasionally pain is so bad it wakes me up 😔 thought it was kidney stones but now I think it's connected with gallstones.

I have several polyps, largest being 7mm. I get an ache under my ribs and also look 6mth pregnant due to bloating. they won't remove my gallbladder until the largest polyp is 1cm.

I know how you feel regarding the hols at as I feel same.

I had polyps and i had SEVERE lower back pain. At one point I had to go to Emergency Room and they had to give me IV pain meds. I could barely move. I am now 5 weeks post op and no more back pain! Do you have a surgery scheduled?

      Hi Sarah,

Sorry to hear you've had such a terrible time with your backache. How many polyps did you have? and were they large polyps ? I'm not sure if I will be offered surgery or not yet? my appt is at the end of this month. The GP just referred me straightaway to the general surgery after the ultrasound scan showed a 1cm polyp/stone? At least hearing your story I am quite sure it's the polyp causing my backache now. I wasn't sure as I got pains in my lower left side a lot too, not just in my right. Did you experience any left sided back pain? Great to hear the surgery worked for you and you've no more back pain! Hope your recovery is a speedy one and all goes well:)

      Best wishes x

Only one polyp showed up on my scan, but after removal there were more. The biggest was 4mm. So they were not very big. The back pain was my entire lower back. It was so bad! My other symptoms were severe pain after eating, it would last for 4-6 hours. Nothing helped with the pain. Keep us posted on your journey!

Can I just ask what's the difference between polyps and stones in gallbladder?

      Hi Katy,

I think the difference between a stone and a polyp is that the stone can move around whereas the polyp is attached by a stalk to the gallbladder. You can have one or the other, or even both I believe! What is it you suffer with Katy? The GP said he thought mine was a 1cm polyp but couldn't be sure if it was a stone or not? I am due to see the general surgery at the end of the month so will hopefully find out more then.

Hope you get sorted out soon:)

      Best wishes x

I had my gallbladder removed four weeks ago and while I’m still having some digestive issues, the pain in my lower back has gone away. I had polyps and one stone. Prayers to to you.
