Can Gential Herpes get infected?

Posted , 4 users are following.

When the sores are open can bacteria get in there and cause an unpleasant greenish-yellowish type of ooze out of the site? Because that seems to be happening with me and I want to know if that is normal for a genital herpes given that I was just told I have it yesterday. But it started early and on day morning. And the ozieness started this morning.

Like any "open wound" it's a possibility for bacteria to get in there. I would get checked out if there is such oozing just to be in safe side. Are you on suppression meds yet? Are you itchy?

Oh okay and yeah I'm taking something they have me yesterday only for a week though. 3 pills a day for a week

Yup. That's how I started. Give it a few days it'll clear right up. I virtually have no issues. I've been HSV-2 positive for 10 years.

I'm not itchy it's just more of a burning and sharp pain near the sores

Okay does it get better between the months and years or like the same pain?

Yeah I think you just have a bad outbreak. The meds will clear it up and suppression therapy will decrease the severity if not outbreaks all together.

Oh okay 😕 so then next time there should be no sores? Just burning?

Everyone is different. Personally I have had no symptoms in 9 years other than a breakout from extreme stress which can happen. The burning when you urinate is just the salts from your body hitting the sores. Do not wipe. Pat dry instead. I use summers eve feminine powder in that area if I break out. Just sprinkle in your underwear. It feels cool n comfortable. It will keep the sores dry for quicker healing n comfort.

Your period shouldn't affect it after suppression. You MAY find you breakout during PMS but eventually you won't.

I do like the powder. CVS, RITE AID, they may have it near the feminine products at Shoppers smile

Sorry no what if I have the sores and get my period?

Same thing. Use tampon (so pad doesn't rub) wash hands with anti bacterial soap before n after putting tampon in. Use the powder. It is what it is. If you're on your period or not. But the suppression will work and you won't even have to worry about stupid herpes smile
