Hello Beverly,
I just wanted to say that all of you who have had or are still going through this battle with this dreadful disease you are not alone. I first contracted H. Pylori in the Army back in 1980 before I was discharged. I couldn't get any medical help then through the service but I knew besides having Double Walking Pneumonia that something was seriously wrong in my stomach. After I was discharged from the service ,I was put in the V.A. Hospital 2 times for H. Pylori and gastritis. It came back and makes 5 times now for me being twice this year 2017. My doctor's nurse just contacted me 2 days ago to let me know I had a bad bacterial infection in my stomach I said oh no not H pylori again she said yes I said I just got treated for that and she said we will not put you on no more high dosage of Antibiotics. All I know is I'm tired of being sick and have been for several years with this bed disease and unless you have had it you do not know what we go through people. I will be filing for disability. One other thing I want everyone to know is that I asked my nurse why do I keep getting this disease and she said some people never get rid of it. I do not wish this on my worst enemy God bless you all!

H Pylori is a bacteria not a virus so after antibiotic treatment you're suppose to be retested to see if the treatment was success.... If the test showed that H pylori was NOT present anymore it means the treatment eradicated the bacteria .... if an ulcer was present and was healed , it is possible based on diet and lifestyle to reoccur but You would have to be reinfected with the bacteria for it to come back if the treatment was successful!!

I don't think you're over reacting. I think if you have symptoms you need to get rid of the bug. Get re tested once antibiotics out your system if still positive try different Antibiotics .

It took me two rounds of antibiotics to eradicate and now I still have burning pain middle back that wraps around with lower abdominal pain. Still have some bloating as well and stomach pain. Had CT scans and upper/lower scope and those are good. Had ultrasound that cleared pancreas, liver, gall bladder and spleen as well. Like you I'm sick of the pain. Seen doctor last week and he put me on acid reducing meds. Hope this helps

Yes! I've read that's unlikely to get reinfected in developed countries but I've had once and I'm positive again after successfully eradicated it.

Hello all! I'm glad I found this group as all this information sounds just like my symptoms!! I have been battling my symptoms for well over 3 years & Im very nervous & to the point that Im so sick of feeling sick!! I have been miserable now for 3 years & counting & Idk what is going on with me but I feel that it could be gastric related. I have shoulder blade pain that feels like the gas pain after surgery, I have bloating severely, I have constant burping, a full feeling in my stomach & esophagus, indigestion, heartburn, hyperactive bowel sounds, diarrhea & nausea.I'm sure I'm leaving out some stuff. I have had numerous tests done, even the h pylori test blood work & the bag test & both of them were negative they said! I've had the gastric emptying test done said it was normal, I've had other testing done like on my kidneys & heart to check them out & everything was ok or I was told. The pain that I feel on a daily basis is awful & I cant get any answers! The only thing I havent had done was the endoscopy/colonoscopy which I'm hoping that's next! Something has got to give b/c I am miserable & this sickness has took 3 years of my life I'll never get back & continues to do so. I'm sooo tired of getting negative tests back!! Not that I wish as anything to be wrong but after all the agony I've been thru, I need something so I can start some kind of treatment!! Uugh has anyone ever been like this???????

Hi Tasha,
Not sure if you have managed to get a treatment plan in place and moved on with your health a bit. If the doctors confirm positively that you have H pylori they will put you on antibiotics and PPI for it. There are two different treatment plans.
I have been suffering three months from this and literally so weak that it feels like this illness has crippled me. I have drastically changed my diet and take prebiotics and probiotics everyday to restore good bacteria- this is what it is all about. The overgrowth of bad bacteria and colonisation. I was told that I was negative for H pylori but I think three courses of antibiotics for wisdom teeth infections and removal might have hidden it. I have recently been getting slight pain under my left ribcage so I will be requesting a test to be done for it when I see the GP.
I hope you have received some closure from this as it takes its toll on people.
