Can HCM be detected on a echo or a EKG?

I was just curious if athis heart disease ican be caught on an echo or an EKG. It is a disease where the heart muscle thickens.

    Not sure but would expect this to be visible on an echo.

      I am not sure it would be better to contact the Cardiomyopathy Associatoon, they have Heart Failure Nurses that would be able to answer your question or on the forums that specialise in this type of Heart disease.

    It may be detected in ECG or ECHO. But they may not pick up very small thickenings.

    i would think an echo would show it up or more so a stress echo good luck

    Yes. Mine was diagnosed 6 years ago and was detected via Echocardiogram. Also I never have a normal EKG due to this heart disease.
