Hello,

I'm a Diabetic 1 with high blood pressure. Inherited from my father, probably. I have been on and off with medicaction for my blood pressure. Micardis is the medicine.

However my blood pressure readings are often close to 140/90. If my blood pressure is in this range for prolonged time, can it cause dizziness and fatigue?

I'm 177 cm tall and weight 95 kilo.I'm 34 years old.Im caucasian.

The trouble is that fatigue and dizziness are very common experiences and can be caused by just about everything. I think it would be unusual for a BP at this level would cause significant symptoms in a 34 year old. However these are common symptoms associated with diabetes and are not uncommon side effects to angiotensin II inhibitors. Micardis in the literature seems to be well tolerated but the lit. rarely seems to reflect patient experiences.

With having diabetes it does mean the control of your BP is more important, this makes it difficult to simply stop a drug and see what happens. If this is having a big effect on your life, its becoming more fashionable to combine drugs at lower dosages, this seems to be more effective and reduces side effects. These drugs are often mixed with a thiazine like diuretic. Other than that and presuming your diabetes is well controlled you may need to discuss it in more detail with your Dr, see if they have any ideas.
