can i increase my medication ?

Hi this is my first post

I have had fibro for 8 years and been on various combinations of tablet,  including  anti-inflammatory tabs but had to stop these due to chronic mouth ulcers, i am currently on 75mg of pregablin morning

100mg at night also 70mg amitriptylene at night

and low dose of fluoxitine daily for SAD

i doubt i can get an appt to see my doctor in the near future its usually a months wait,  so i wondered if i could increase the dose myself  safely - as my pain has got very bad over the last week and i am not resting properly.  i have been referred to the pain clinic, but have to wait 6 months, for that. i was told that i was not on much in the way of meds by the neurologist, and have looked online at doses and i do seem to be on a low dose.

i lost a lot of weight recently to try to improve the pain in my feet and it did help me to walk better but now going downhill again with leg and arm pain.

You can and I have done but nobody would recommend it without talking to your gp first, else it’s at your own risk, you are on a low dose for the amount of pain you’re in though have you tried a telephone appointment?

Best to be sure before you do increase meds. Can you can call the dr office ask the nurse o get back to you or wait till next appt.mnever assume it's ok to increase medications without a doctor's advice.
