Can I stop sertraline after 4 doses?

Hi all

Can I stop taking sertraline after4 days. I took 50mg once a day.

I called my GP but they have no appointments available until end of the month. I am hoping that when I call early in the morning then I will get the same day appointment.

The side effects are absolutely horrendous. I was prescribed this for anxiety because my psychotherapy may start in the next 12 months. However, I found a private therapist who will help me.

Its only been 4 days on these pills but I feel confused, I can't focus, I have a headache, my body temperature is higher than usual (almost feverish), I am nervous and the amount of panic attacks I have had in the past 4 days is unreal, and they are sudden as well. For example, I will wake up from a nap with a massive panic attack. I am crying hysterically as well. The side effects are making me paranoid because I suffer with health anxiety. I know it takes a few weeks to get used to this, however, my head does not get it.

I thought I could try antidepressants for my anxiety, but I would rather just do some therapies and meditation rather than suffer like this to be honest. It is definitely not for me.

I know its best to speak to a professional, but I don't know if I can get in for an appointment and wanted to see what anyone else can say about this.

Thanks in advance

Ronnie
