I will have been on methotrexate for 3 yrs this june for RA.

I used to take 6 a week, and dropped to 4 due to side effects making me feel sick etc, i had to go up to 5 again due to pain and have been on 5 for about a year now.

Anyway for the last 3-4 weeks, i have noticed...i take my meds on a saturday night, and by monday morning when i am walking my son to school, i break out in cold clammy sweat, feel sick, dizzy, headaches and then had sometimes diahorrea later in day. This can last for 2 days on and off.

Do you think this is the methotrexate? its all i can put it down to really, and its that its always every monday and tuesday i am like this, then i kind of pick uo the rest of the week.

I am thinking about going to see my GP as i cant go on like this.

Hope your all well :D

Hi, I've been on methotrexate for nearly 6 years. I take 1 folic acid on Saturday and the 6 methotrexate on Sunday. I used to love my food but now feel constantly nauseus. I can't eat meat and vegetables brasicas, I can't even stand the smell of cooking. I have stated this but got nowhere. My hair is different and bacame a lot thinner and I lost all the wave in it, thankfully I had a lot of hair. However without the methotrexate I seize up and life becomes quite painful. To dat nobody has suggested I take more folic acid. I will ask abouut this at the next review.

    Stay well and mobile.
