Okay so I know what testosterone is but I don't know a lot about it I only know that it helps with the building of the muscles and other things , I know if your low in it I can cause some problems , but can this cause anxiety ? I seen around that it might but I want to see if there is any one out there with the point of view I'm looking for who need to get that extra testosterone and does it help with anxiety , it's a random question but if I'm low in it is this probably what is causing me to have anxiety ? and no motivation ? all ways sleepy , thanks in advance

    Hi,

I too have anxiety and low testosterone.

I know that low testosterone effects mental health. Immune system and so much other important things.

It does have a massive impact on your mental health though. This being said I have experimented with testosterone as an anabolic steroid and it didn't help with my anxiety it did make me feel better about the way I looked but the anxiety was still there. On average the population of males today has considerably low testosterone in comparison to our ansesters, I have read many interesting articles on this. So what I'm saying is yes it can cause anxiety problems, depression and feeling lethargic. It might not nessasry be the main cause of anxiety though. I don't about your plans to have children are.. If you do not plan on having them or anymore for that matter I would advise you to get TRT ( testosterone replacement therapy) after making sure your health is in check and you don't have excess fat as this stunts testosterone production.

Like I say low testosterone can cause and most certainly will cause mental health problems depending on how low. You just need to get that back in check. Then take the anxiety on from there if it still lingers. You having low testosterone, will probably not feel as good as you should and you should notice a huge differnece in life quality if and when you get these levels to normal. Hopefully it will get rid of the anxiety. Maybe just maybe there is something els that is causing this for you.

That's the thing I haven't found the underling of my anxiety I know certain things that trigger it like coffee stressful situations , I'm not sure If I have low testosterone but I feel treble most the time this could just be the anxiety , I train every day and when j train I feel grate when and after but few hours down the line I feel bad again this anxiety or something else I feel as tho it might be something else but I have had loads of test done and nothing has been found I have had therapy and things but nothing seems to kick it , next step might have to be medication ,

Yes well I'm the same tried so hard to avoid medication but I was addicted to the gym and got up to 20 stone but I was getting obsessed with it and the doctor told me these obsessions with the gym would have a lot to do with the anxiety. Just like you say the gym makes you feel good when your pumped but after a few hours I feel terrible. Especially with pre work out. I think you should suggest it to your doctor. The only thing is if your young you really need to stay off alcohol . If you do go on medication. I'm on meds now and it hasn't really helped yet but when I drink I black out. Then I'm back to square one. Keeping healthy and looking after yourself will help anxiety and testosterone.

    hello

yes low testerone will deffinalty trigger anxiety, low testerone will make you feel ill if left too long, sertralince and other drugs can reduce testosterone levels hence why it is a good idea to have them checked often, testosterone is basically what makes a man but also keeps body and bones in order, it does get more complecated but im giving you a general idea, you can have replacements which can be via injection or cream , patches and a few others, once you have your testosterone in check you also need to have estrogen levels checked as your spare tostesterone can be converted into estrogen and high estrogen will also make you feel very ill causing anxiety, hope that helps

hi paul, yes your symptoms can be  part of the low testosterone levels. once your levels are correct you will feel a big differance.
