Can lymph nodes stay swollen permanently while not being dangerous?

Hello. First time I found a lymph node was 10 years ago on my neck and it never went away. 4 years ago more started showing up in my armpit. then 2 years later due to a terrible, high fever flu a lot popped up on my neck, jaw and upper collarbones. Some have stayed, others come and go and some did go away. However I have done a lot of ultrasounds and none of them are bigger than 2 millimeters (0.78 inches), or even bigger than 1.7 millimeters. The doctors said, even if there were plenty, they were not dangerous and it was mostly due to my age and bad immune system. They are painful to touch sometimes too.
My question is: Is it normal. Do I have to be scared for my life?
Looking forward to your responses.

Go see a Specialist on Lymph node or Infection disease. Follow with Blood test, specially CBC. CBC can rule out the amount of WBC, RBC, Lymphocyte, Neutrophil and others. If your CBC result is okay, I hope there are nothing to worry about Swollen gland. But sometimes Doctors ask for further diagnoses followed by patients symptoms such as Biopsy. It helps to rule out 100% of if there are any pathogens(bacteria) to worry about.
I had spotted my first swollen lymph node on my neck on 2010, which was very tender, soft, a bit painful sometimes, moveable. But the excision was came with white pus. After 4 years later, It showed up again on left cervical gland, excision and white pus. My 3rd excision biospy was done on 2nd December 2019 and result shows No active TB(Tuberculosis) bacteria, No cancerous Malignancy. Granulomatous Lymphadenitis- I had no idea what is it, doctors told Its kind of infection disease. They requested to treat me with Tuberculosis disease medication ( for 6 month) but I denied due to I dont have any active bacteria, neither my lungs is infected. Tuberculosis medication has several side effects - Hepatitis, Liver infection, diarrhea, Nausea & vomiting. I am looking for second opinion from a different specialist.
